This was my first time there and I went for lunch. I didn't know what to expect and when it arrived I had two thoughts. The servers were diligent and kept the drinks filled. I wish the Chimi was a little larger especially at 15 bucks after tax, but it was good. The food is great, service is good, and the price is very reasonable. Lantern-style pendant lights hang above booths from a geometrically patterned ceiling with recessed lighting.

This results in 1 Star. Fish taco was not what we expected, but tasty. The saddest guacamole I've ever seen. Chips and salsa came out immediately and was a nice start. My second impression was that the steak was bound to be stringy and difficult to eat.

We did end up at big bar to grab our own cocktail for happy hour pricing. It was worth wandering back through the courtyard to find Miguels. I wouldn't mind paying those prices for amazing food or for great ambiance like a Javier's , but for this? Founded in 1982, it offers a variety of Mexican dishes in a patio setting. This island favorite is focused around hospitality to its customers as well as great food and drinks as well. Please, for the love of god and guacamole, take a page from El Torito and make it fresh, tableside and worth every penny. Inside, the dining room has stone and brick walls, and a seascape wall mural. We were on Coronado staying at the Del.

Try the grilled Sonoran-spiced swordfish fillets with red cabbage, shredded cheese, salsa fresca, and ranch dressing in two warm corn tortillas. Anything on the menu is good. Since 1973, all our recipes have been prepared in our kitchens using the highest quality and freshest ingredients available. The kids loved the cheese quesadilla. We were seated quickly and had our drinks almost immediately. I recommend their Christmas themed drinks which are really good and you can sit outside under their pergola which is a huge advantage as San Diego is almost always good to sit outside. By the way, the service was ok, our waiter was nice and could probably do better, hopefully he moves on to better ventures.

Ellie our server was super nice and friendly. My husband was raving about their nachos, so we decided to come here for dinner while we were in the area. The patio-facing wall is bright gold with large tile-framed paned windows. The restaurant s additional dishes include tostada grande, chimichangas, vegetable cheese enchiladas, flautas, chile verde burritos and fajitas. For entrees, we decided to get the shredded beef nachos as well as the chicken flautas. I'll have to go back and try the margaritas.

MIGUEL'S COCINA, Coronado

I ordered the Chimi and really enjoyed it. I like to go walking over to the Hotel Del Coronado after eating. I'd highly suggest this place for someone out of town. The upside is they could develop both the portion size and attempt to control costs in order to reduce costs. Hotel Del, on one end of Central Beach, is a Victorian island legend with a remarkable and storied past. Once we finally got the food, we had to send some back because it was either not to our liking.
